The majority of the time during the week, there doesn’t seem to be more than 15 players on at a time at most. When the player count is even lower (4-12), playing on some of the larger maps doesn’t have the same feel as with a full game of 20+
Similarly, playing on a small map with 30+ players is just overwhelming.
A simple solution to this is adding player count ratings for maps. These could be loosely followed with some wiggle room, but the idea is that larger maps have a greater chance of being played when more players are present, and a smaller chance of being played with a small amount of players. Vice versa is true for smaller maps.
You could add a player count rating for all the maps in rotation now, and gauge a good player count rating for submitted maps during the testing phase.
