Tools For Map Making?

It kind of seems strange to make a whole thread for this but hey I want answers. I want to get back into map making again but the tools I use for map making are extremely outdated like 1.8 outdated. What kind of tools do you guys personally to make your maps?

The number one tool for map making is WorldEdit. I also recommend using WorldEdit CUI, which makes using WE much easier. This is a tutorial on how to easily install both.

There are still many tools that are updated for the later versions of MC. Majority are at least updated up to 1.12. At least the main 2, world edit and voxel sniper, are updated for 1.12. You can look up servers like Builders Refuge that have the tools updated and allow you to build whole worlds on there.
